Arts integrated lessons developed by art and academic teachers are taught throughout the week. Students develop art works that depict academic standards. As an example, students learning about cells and cell division will incorporate photography, drawing or media art and design a photo or depiction of a cell as it undergoes change while dividing. This is just one of countless ways to integrate the arts to make learning more meaningful to students. Studies clearly show that when the arts are integrated into academic learning that the learning becomes more meaningful and enhanced with discovery. This is because the academic topics are now tied to something that is personal to the student; art. They learn to create and be imaginative and develop projects that aligned to state standards and are accurate in their depiction of academic standards.
